Alarm over developments at Radley Lakes

Commenting on news that redevelopment work has started at the Radley Lakes site and an injunction has been taken out against protests around the site, local MP Dr Evan Harris said:

"I am disappointed that N-Power are seeking to start work on the site before the application for Town Green status has been completed."

"I am alarmed at the recent security developments. As someone who has visited the site myself I remain to be satisfied that the terms of the injunction were warranted as local people must retain the right to protest peacefully at what they see as environmentally damaging action".

Dr Harris has written to N-power urgently requesting to see the detailed terms of the restrictions and the justification for them.

"I suspect this injuntion may be challenged as to its breadth, and rightly so."
